Tour Overview
This 3-day trek starts from Bumthang valley offering a luxury of scenic landscapes, cultural and religious sites and a diverse array of flora and fauna. The trail takes you through a forest of varied vegetation.
One could also view Mount Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan and the highest unclimbed peak in the world.
Itinerary
Day 01 :
PARO
- Arrive Paro International Airport
- Meet with representative from Bhutan Journeys
- Transfer to your hotel
- Visit Paro Dzong, fortress
- Archery
- Paro town
- Evening at leisure

Day 02 :
PARO VALLEY EXPLORATION
- Day hike to Paro Taktsang, Tiger Nest, most venerated site in Bhutan
- Kyichu monastery, the oldest monastery in Bhutan

Day 03 :
PARO –PUNAKHA ( 130Km)
- Transfer to Punakha via Dochula pass, 3050M/10,000ft, panoramic views of Himalayan peaks.
- Descend to Lobesa, Punakha
- Drive to visit Punakha Dzong “Palace of Great Happiness”
- Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of fertility- Drukpa Kunley, Divine Madman)
- Visit Lobesa Village

Day 04 :
PUNAKHA – TRONGSA ( 135 Km)
- Transfer to Trongsa, 5-6 hours drive
- View Wangdue Dzong
- Encounter beautiful sceneries of rural Bhutan, scattered settlement,
- Pele La pass (3350m 11000ft),
- Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park,
- Valley of Yak herders
- Chendebji Chorten and impressive forest.
- Several villages and stunning views of Trongsa Dzong.

Day 05 :
TRONGSA – BUMTHANG ( 68Km)
- After breakfast visit Trongsa Dzong,
- Ta Dzong ( watch tower)
- Drive toward Bumthang via Yotong la pass (11,600 ft.)
- On the way you will visit Weaving ( “Yathara “ woolen cloths)
- Check in your hotel

Day 06 :
(TREK DAY 1): BUMTHANG – MENCHUGANG – SCHONATE (TREK START)
- Distance: 10 Km/ 6 miles
- Time: 5 hrs.
- Menchu Gangang: 2,900m/ 9809.71 ft.
- Schonate: 3450m/ 11.319ft
Overnight: Camp
Day 07 :
(TREK DAY 2): SCHONATE – KITIPHU
- Distance: 12 km/ 7.4 miles
- Time: 5 – 6 hrs.
- Brangela las : 3600m / 11,811ft
- Kitiphu: 3870m / 12,697ft

Day 08 :
(TREK DAY 3): KITIPHU – CHUMEY, BUMTHANG (TREK END)
- Distance: 11 Km/7.9 miles
- Time: 5-6 hrs.

Day 09 :
CHUMEY, JAKAR – PHOBJIKHA WANGDUE ( 122Km)
- Transfer early morning to Phobjikha via Trongsa
- 5-6 hours drive
- Visit Trongsa Dzong,
- Drive over Pelela pass to Phobjikha Valley.
- Leisure

Day 10 :
PHOBJIKHA – WANGDUE – THIMPHU ( 134Km)
- Hike eco natural trail with
- Drive to visit Gangtey Monastery
- Drive to Thimphu via wangdue over Dochula pass
- Check in your Hotel
- Evening at leisure

Day 11 :
THIMPHU – PARO (54Km)
- Visit following places of cultural interest
- Memorial Chorten, dedicated to 3rd King of Bhutan
- Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha statue, 169 ft.)

- Depart to Paro, 2 hours
- Check in your hotel
