Thimphu Tshechu is a religious festival observed annually at the grand Tashichho Dzong, a fortress in the center of Thimphu district which has been the seat of the government since 1952 and also presently houses the throne room and offices of His Majesty the King, the Secretariat and the Ministries of Home and Cultural Affairs and Finance.

The northern portion is the summer residence of the central monk body. One of the most viewed Tsechusin Bhutan, it is also one of the must watch festivals for visiting tourists.
