Paro Tshechu is an annual event in the valley of Paro, in western Bhutan. It is acclaimed for attracting as many tourists as it does the local people. Several masked dances, rituals and folk songs of profound significance are performed.
Paro Tshechu is legendary for locals who come bedecked in their finest, the sumptuous home-cooked meals families feast on, and the terrific occasion it affords people to gather and celebrate. This is an event where people take a breather from their daily chores and contemplate spirituality and life.
