Meet the team

Mr. Chophyel founded Bhutan Journeys in 2005.

He is a native of Bumthang, an area well-known for its wealth of history and as the winter home of the black-necked cranes. Mr. Chophyel’s knowledge of Bhutan and his vast experience in the field, make him one of the most experienced tour leaders in Bhutan.

Ms.Vizzoni is our UK – based travel associate.

She became enchanted with Bhutan during a visit in 2015 and has been promoting the country ever since.

Mr. Tenzin started guiding in 2008.

He cherishes meeting people from all over the world and is deeply passionate about his work. He is currently in Tokyo, where he is studying a Japanese language course. As soon as he has completed his studies he is expected to be back as part of the team.

Mr. Karma started guiding in 2006.

Mr. Dhendup has amassed a wide and varied knowledge of the history and heritage of Bhutan.He leads treks throughout the country

Mr. Lhendup joined Bhutan Journeys having worked at the luxury Aman Resort for six years.

He leads the cultural and trekking teams and is highly regarded for his specialist knowledge and for providing services of the highest quality to his clients.

Mr. Tashi is one of the most senior guides

in the Tourism Industry. He has completed all the trekking routes and leads cultural, photographic and trekking groups across Bhutan. He has a natural gift as a story teller and uses it to communicate his passion for Bhutan and its people.

Mr. Wangdi started guiding in 2009

undertook further training in Conservation and the Environment at the Ugyen Wanchuk Institute. He enjoys meeting people from all over the world and sharing his insights about his country. He is particularly interested in tailoring his tours to the specific interests of his group.

Ms. Wangmo joined the Finance Department of Bhutan Journeys in 2016.

With expertise in financial planning she leads the financial operations and provides support for the day to day running of the company.

A senior trekking member in the company,

Mr. Dorji has worked with Bhutan Journeys ever since its inception. As well as being a chef, certified by the Tourism Council of Bhutan, he has been associated with trekking in Bhutan since 1985 and has completed all the trekking routes. His passion for trekking and his culinary skills are an added advantage for any group he leads

All our clients at Bhutan Journeys have a designated driver for the duration of their stay. Mr Hark is our senior Chauffeur. His driving skills and cheerful personality always ensure an enjoyable tour.
